Sample Gulf Coast Craft Beer in Galveston This Summer

The BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival offers a world-class summer beer experience that’s an easy drive or flight from many places in the US. Whether you’re a beer connoisseur or just up for an interesting weekend, there will be something for you to taste, see, and do on the last weekend in August.

Getting In and Out of Galveston

Galveston is a coastal area due south of Houston, Texas. If you’re flying, George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport are the major commercial stops. You can take a shuttle bus down and also return on the Galveston to Houston shuttle (no need to rent a car, especially if you’ve been sampling the wares at the beer festival). Galveston is a highly walkable city, and also serviced locally by a trolley system.

There’s More to Do Than Drink Beer

You can also sample tequila and nachos at the Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila event. The festival also offers exclusive events for premium ticket holders who will get to meet the owners of leading Texas breweries, and closes out on Sunday at lunchtime with live music, barbecue, and of course beer. Throughout the weekend, educational events will also be going on to help you if you’re interested in learning to brew beer yourself.

Where It’s All Happening

The event venue is the Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center. It’s got everything you need all weekend. All events connected to the festival will happen on or near the premises, and the convention center offers lodging and entertainment options (including an I-MAX theater) for your family. But if the hotel is sold out, there are plenty of options nearby.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of Galveston while you’re there. There are historic houses and mansions, museums, tree-lined neighborhoods, and a lot of history to take in. There’s also plenty of live entertainment going on every weekend.
